Cllr. Ed Bridges, Cllr. Fenella Bowden and John Dixon want residents to be aware of the new graffiti-removing service launched by Cardiff's Lib Dem council.

Cardiff's Lib Dem Council recently launched a new graffiti removal scheme allowing communities to work together to report graffiti and help get it removed quickly.

A five-day target has been set to remove most graffiti, with a 24 hour target for graffiti which is racist or offensive.

• For all graffiti enquiries, please call 101 and it will be scheduled for removal

• All work carried out on private property has to be agreed with the private landowner in advance and an indemnity form has to be signed

• Enforcement of illegal graffiti will continue to be tackled by the Council and the South Wales Police working together. Anyone who is caught offending will be prosecuted.

Free graffiti removal packs are also available for local community and volunteer groups. The wipes can be easily used to remove graffiti from metal, painted and glass surfaces, such as lamp posts and street signs. Each pack comes with full instructions and protective gloves.

If you would like to obtain free graffiti removal packs for yourself or a local community group, or if you require further information, please contact Connect-2-Cardiff on (029) 2087 2087.
